Incident Summary:A penalty was called against Solano Surf. A Solano Surf was then sent off. The Solano Surf goalkeeper blocked the subsequent penalty kick (last kick of the game). 2 Solano players entered the pitch from the sidelines before the kick and then continued onto the field to taunt the player who missed the kick. A mass confrontation ensued with adult spectators from both teams entering the field.
Comments:The PAD Committee recommends to the Board of Directors that Solano Surf be placed on probation until July 1, 2024. In part the PAD Committee recommends this because this was a Surf home game and the Surf referees did not file an Incident Report. The PAD Committee recommends that Ceres Earthquake be placed on probation until January 1, 2024. The coach of the Solano Surf team, Tony Bussard, is suspended 5 games - 3 for failing to control his team's spectators (2 for spectators entering the field during the confrontation and 1 for having a spectator ejected) and 2 for failing to control his team. The coach of the Ceres team, Eddie Sanchez, is suspended 4 games - 2 for failing to control his team and 2 for failing to control his team's spectators.
