Incident Summary:An FC Sporting parent was sent off for abusing the referee. After that occurred, a mother from FC Sporting and a mother from Dixon engaged in a confrontation. The FC Sporting mother was asked to leave, went to the parking lot and continued using foul language. In addition, the mother who was sent off tried to engage a minor in a fight. The father who was sent off also remained in the parking lot using foul language. This led to the match being terminated and Dixon PD being summoned. The referee approached the FC Sporting coach who responded that he had no control over the parents.
A NorCal neutral observer was at this match and confirmed the report from the referee.
Comments:The coach of the FC Sporting team Kazeem Alabi is suspended 4 games - 1 game for each of the parents that was sent off and 2 games for claiming that coaches are not responsible for the behavior of the parents. The NorCal Code of Ethics is clear that coaches are responsible for the behavior of the team's parents.
Given that there have been previous incidents with this FC Sporting's team's spectators, all spectators from this FC Sporting team are banned from attending the team's next 2 NorCal games - they are to be no closer to the field than the parking lot. A NorCal neutral observer will be assigned to those 2 matches to confirm that no spectators attend those matches. The cost of those neutral observers will be paid by FC Sporting. Violation of this ban will result in the referral of the matter to the NorCal Board of Directors for further discipline.
