| Incident Summary: | Lamorinda Soccer Club ("LMSC") has been accused of violating (a) the rules governing the Winter Tryout Window, (b) Rule 2 of the Responsibilities Regarding Scouting and Recruiting section of the Code of Ethics, and (c) Rule 6 of the Responsibilities to Players section of the Code of Ethics.
The WInter Tryout Window was established by the Board of Directors of NCPSL in a directive that stated "Competitive players currently registered in other NorCal clubs are NOT (emphasis in original) to attend a tryout at this time."
Rule 2 of the Responsibilities Regarding Scouting and Recruiting states that "It is inappropriate to Recruit Player(s) unless the Director of Coaching of the Player’s current Club provides written permission in advance of the initial approach to the Player. If a player or parent of a player initiates contact with any Adult Member of another club expressing intent to move to that Adult Member’s club, it is the responsibility of that Adult Member or the Adult Member’s Director____________ |
| Comments: | LMSC is currently on probation status for previous violations of the NorCal Code of Ethics, and were found to have violated the NorCal recruitment & tryout window policies prior to Spring 2020. As such, the NorCal Board of Directors have made the following decision:
• Lamorinda SC will lose their NPL Club Status (boys & girls programs), effective immediately.
• Individual Lamorinda SC teams will be eligible to be considered for NPL Wildcard places in the 2020/21 season, as per the NorCal NPL Club Process.
• Lamorinda SC to remain on probation status with NorCal Premier Soccer until the end of the 2020/21 season.
